Beta Theta Pi Installation Ceremony

Delta Lambda Chapter

Florida State University

About the Chapter

About the Chapter
Originally established in 1969, the Delta Lambda chapter of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity has called Florida State University home throughout its existence. Several hundred men have joined this brotherhood since its founding. While the chapter has had to close its doors once before, in its most recent history, Delta Lambda was recolonized in fall 2013 as a Men of Principle organization. Delta Lambda has remained an active organization and influence within the Florida State University fraternity and sorority life community and continues to build "men of principle for a principled life."

Most recently in Summer 2018, the men of Delta Lambda petitioned the General Convention for charter as a full-fledged chapter. The petition was successful, and the brotherhood continues to make positive strides after this recognition.

Beta Spirit

"Again, the Beta is distinguishable and distinguished from all other kinds of fraternity men whatsoever, by just a little warmer and stronger, just a little tenderer and more enduring fraternity feeling than any of them can attain to. For it was always so. I do not in the least know how it happened nor why it persisted after it happened, but a long time ago there came into Beta Theta Pi a fraternity spirit that was, and is, and apparently will continue to be unique... The first mark of a Beta will be his Beta spirit." - Willis O. Robb, Ohio Wesleyan 1879
